Bandai Namco and developer Media.Vision have announced that Digimon Story: Time Stranger will be receiving a large-scale expansion DLC. The expansion is currently in development and is set to launch in 2027, though no specific date has been given yet. The announcement was made during Digimon Con 2026, where producer Ryosuke Hara also shared a few early details about what players can expect.

Alongside the DLC news, Bandai Namco revealed the results of the 139th Digimon Referendum — a fan vote asking which Digimon players would most like to train or see appear in future Digimon games. Voters chose from a list of 35 Digimon selected by the team. The top 10 results were:
- Gammamon
- Loogamon
- Kazemon
- Gumdramon
- Pulsemon
- Herissmon
- Terriermon Assistant
- Meicoomon
- Ludomon
- Gekkomon
Hara confirmed that the referendum results will influence the expansion, though not every Digimon that made the top 10 will necessarily be included. “While not everything from the Digi Referendum results we just announced will be making it in, after taking into consideration the world-building for this new expansion and future Digimon games, we will be partially reflecting those results,” he said.
While Hara kept most of the content details under wraps, he did confirm one thing: voice actor Mutsumi Tamura, who voiced Aegiomon in the base game, will be returning for the expansion.

Further details on which Digimon will appear are expected in future announcements. Digimon Story: Time Stranger is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. It is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch on July 9 in Japan and July 10 worldwide.
