Bandai Namco Entertainment and Spike Chunsoft have unveiled the next wave of content for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, outlining a clear post-launch roadmap that extends well into 2026. The announcement confirms a major downloadable content expansion planned for this summer, alongside two free gameplay updates that will arrive earlier in the year. Together, these updates aim to expand the game’s single-player depth while continuing to grow its roster and customization systems.
The first free update arrives very soon. Players will gain access to a new mode called “Mission 100” on January 26. Spike Chunsoft will follow this with another free addition, “Survival Mode,” scheduled for release later this spring.
Mission 100 Launches on January 26

Mission 100 introduces a new single-player experience built around a large number of self-contained combat challenges. Players can choose their favorite characters and tackle a wide range of missions that focus on fast-paced battles rather than complex rulesets. Spike Chunsoft describes the mode as simple by design, but rich in variety.
The development team designed Mission 100 to appeal strongly to long-time fans. Many of its encounters are meant to recall the structure and feel of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. The mode encourages experimentation with different fighters while offering enough content to support repeated playthroughs.
Survival Mode Arrives This Spring

Later in the spring, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will add Survival Mode as another free update. This mode focuses on endurance-based combat, pushing players to defeat multiple opponents in succession. Limited recovery and increasing pressure will test both mechanical skill and character knowledge.
With the addition of Survival Mode, the game significantly expands its offline offerings. Players who prefer solo challenges will gain more reasons to stay engaged between competitive matches and online play.
Major DLC Expansion Coming This Summer

The most significant reveal is a major DLC expansion planned for release this summer. Bandai Namco Entertainment describes the package as massive and filled with new content. The expansion will add new playable characters, costumes, moves, stages, and a brand-new game mode.
Confirmed characters include Super Android 17, King Piccolo, and Super Saiyan Bardock. New costumes, such as Gohan’s childhood outfit, will also join the lineup. The DLC will introduce expanded battle customization, allowing players to unlock new super attacks for characters like Goku and Vegeta. This system aims to deepen player expression and combat variety.
Platform Availability and Release Differences
Bandai Namco Entertainment confirmed that release timing will differ for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch versions. Previously released downloadable content for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions will begin rolling out to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch starting this winter. The company has not yet shared exact dates.
