Jun-hee Lee, project director of Brown Dust 2, has issued a major update clarifying the game’s stance on character designs and upcoming policy changes following recent community concerns. The developer addressed confusion surrounding the January 10 developer note and outlined concrete steps to restore player trust.
Character Design Changes Cancelled

Lee confirmed that none of the previously discussed character or costume changes will take place. Popular characters, including Teresse and Refithea, will remain in their original forms, and content such as the “Slap! Slap! Pop!” minigame will not be removed. This decision is final and will remain in effect for the entire service of Brown Dust 2.
The developer also clarified the status of the Liberta Prestige Skin. Originally planned to face adjustments, it will now release in its original form. As a gesture of apology, the skin will be available to all players free of charge for four weeks following the January 15 update. Similarly, the character Granadair will be released in her original version without modifications.
Clarifying Revision Criteria

Lee acknowledged that the ambiguity in external regulations and content standards caused unnecessary confusion. Terms such as “clearly an adult” led to uncertainty and mistrust among players. The director took full responsibility for miscommunication and emphasized the team’s commitment to transparency moving forward.
Country-Specific Service Plans

Brown Dust 2 operates under multiple store approvals and rating agencies, making global content compliance complex. Rather than altering character designs, Lee stated that the team will adopt country-specific restrictions or, if necessary, suspend local service to meet regulatory requirements. The goal is to protect the experience and rights of all players while maintaining the original content wherever possible.
Future Events and Engagement

The development team will host an offline user meeting in the Seoul metropolitan area on January 24, followed by another in a different region in February. They will also attend the Taipei Game Show on January 30. However, for the first half of the year, offline appearances will pause to focus on development.
Lee concluded by taking personal responsibility for the confusion caused and promised to safeguard the integrity of Brown Dust 2’s characters. He reassured players that no external forces dictate these decisions and committed to making choices that respect both the game and its community.
