At CES 2026, Razer pulled back the curtain on Project AVA, a futuristic AI-powered desk companion designed to live alongside users as a constant digital partner. Building on its earlier esports AI coach concepts, Project AVA represents a broader vision from Razer to merge virtual assistance with a physical presence, positioning the device as a 24/7 companion for life, work, and play.
An AI Companion That Lives on Your Desk

Project AVA takes the form of a compact desktop device featuring a 5.5-inch animated 3D holographic avatar. Unlike traditional voice assistants, AVA is designed with a dynamic personality that evolves based on user interaction. Through human-like vision and audio sensing, she maintains contextual awareness of both the user and their environment, allowing for more natural and responsive interaction throughout the day.
Razer describes AVA as an “AI desk companion” rather than a simple assistant. She can organize schedules, help plan daily activities, and provide consultation on professional tasks, while also acting as a dedicated gaming wingman. Whether guiding players through complex strategies or offering encouragement during tense moments, AVA aims to feel present rather than purely functional.
Customizable Avatars and Personalities

At launch, Project AVA will support multiple companion personas, each with a distinct tone and style. Options include AVA, a calm and reliable presence, KIRA, a supportive and energetic gaming partner, and ZANE, a cool-headed strategist. Razer has also teased collaborations such as FAKER, inspired by the legendary esports player, and SAO, an idol-style companion designed for more personal interaction based on the viral image of Saori Araki. Razer notes that avatar selection and animations remain in development and are not final.
These avatars were developed in partnership with Animation Inc., featuring real-time rendering, detailed facial expressions, eye tracking, and fluid motion to enhance realism and emotional connection.
Technology Behind Project AVA

Project AVA currently runs on xAI’s Grok engine to demonstrate its reasoning capabilities and adaptive personality. However, Razer emphasizes that the platform uses an open, future-ready architecture. This approach allows compatibility with other leading AI systems, including a potential dedicated Razer AI, once the product moves closer to commercialization.
The device is designed specifically for Windows users and connects directly to a PC via USB-C. This wired connection supports high-bandwidth data transfer, enabling features like “PC Vision Mode,” which allows AVA to analyze on-screen content with minimal latency.
More Than Just Gaming

While gaming plays a central role in AVA’s identity, Razer positions the device as a “Friend for Life.” Beyond gameplay coaching, AVA can act as a daily planner, wellness and routine coach, and professional consultant capable of creative brainstorming and data analysis. Razer also stresses that AVA is designed to comply with competitive gaming rules, functioning strictly as a coaching and learning tool rather than an automated or exploitative system.
Availability and Reservation Details
Razer expects Project AVA to launch in the second half of 2026. Users in the United States can reserve a unit now through Razer’s official website with a fully refundable USD 20 deposit, which will be credited toward the final purchase. As a CES 2026 concept reveal, Project AVA signals Razer’s ambition to redefine how AI integrates into everyday desktop experiences.
