Tales of series general producer Yusuke Tomizawa shared new details about the franchise’s future during a 30th anniversary video released by Bandai Namco Entertainment. In the video, Tomizawa thanked fans for their support over the past three decades and provided updates on both the ongoing Tales Remastered Project and a new mainline title in development.
The Tales Remastered Project launched in October 2024 as Bandai Namco Entertainment’s effort to bring earlier games in the series to modern platforms. Tales of Graces f Remastered released in January 2025, followed by Tales of Xillia Remastered in October 2025. The next release, Tales of Berseria Remastered, is scheduled for February 27, 2026.
The three remasters released so far update the twelfth, thirteenth, and sixteenth mainline entries in the series. However, Tomizawa announced that future remasters will shift focus to older “classics” in the franchise. This suggests that early titles like Tales of Phantasia, the first mainline entry, could receive updated graphics and modern gameplay improvements.
Tomizawa noted that the remaster project prioritizes factors like feasibility and source code availability rather than following the series’ chronological order. This means older titles may not receive remasters in the order they were originally released.

The producer also mentioned that game development takes significantly more time now compared to previous years. He asked fans to remain patient as the team continues work on the next mainline entry, which was previously mentioned in past interviews.
