Capcom confirmed that it is revitalizing three of its legacy franchises: Ace Attorney, Devil May Cry, and Mega Man. The company revealed this in its Integrated Report 2025, which outlines strategic priorities for investors. While it did not announce specific titles or release dates, the report shows that Capcom is dedicating resources to developing new content for these iconic series.
Devil May Cry: A Gap in Action

Devil May Cry 5 released in 2019 to critical acclaim and sold 12.2 million copies including the Special Edition. Despite its success, fans have not seen a new mainline installment. Director Hideaki Itsuno and his team moved on to Dragon’s Dogma 2, limiting simultaneous development for both franchises. In addition to that, Hideaki Itsuno has left Capcom as of 2025.
The revitalization could include a mainline Devil May Cry 6 or remakes of earlier entries. Fans speculate about a DMC1 remake leaning into the series’ survival-horror roots or a DMC3 remake, widely considered a fan favorite.
Ace Attorney: Preparing for a New Entry

Capcom has not released a mainline Ace Attorney title since Spirit of Justice in 2016. Since then, the company focused on ports and collections. All canonical titles are now available on modern platforms, including The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, which brought Japan-exclusive prequels to global audiences.
Because remaster opportunities are exhausted, the report strongly suggests that a new mainline Ace Attorney game is in development. A leaked Capcom schedule from 2020 mentioned Ace Attorney 7, though that project appears to have been delayed or restarted.
Mega Man: Which Subseries Will Return?

The Mega Man franchise spans multiple subseries, including Classic, X, Legends, Zero/ZX, Battle Network, and Star Force. Mega Man 11 revived the Classic series in 2018, but most subseries have seen no new entries.
Notable gaps include Mega Man X9, following X8 in 2004, and no continuation of Legends, canceled in 2011. Capcom’s revitalization plan could lead to new games across any subseries, though the company has not specified which ones.
A Proven Strategy

Capcom has successfully revitalized Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter 6. By highlighting Ace Attorney, Devil May Cry, and Mega Man, the company shows a similar plan: active development, investor reassurance, and long-term monetization.
While specific announcements will come in future showcases, fans now have semi-formal confirmation that new projects for these franchises are officially on the horizon.
