Konami Digital Entertainment has officially announced that the FIFAe World Cup 2025 will begin on December 10th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The tournament features eFootball and is hosted by FIFA for a live audience while also being streamed worldwide. This edition marks the second FIFAe World Cup, with 90 countries and regions participating in the preliminaries, totaling 16.51 million participants.

To celebrate the start of the tournament, Konami has released a new in-game update, along with a special campaign. Players can log in from December 4th to December 18th to earn free items. Users also receive one player item daily from a curated list. Additionally, completing Squad Challenge Events rewards extra prizes. These updates enhance gameplay and give both returning and new players fresh experiences.
Konami Partners with the Confederation of African Football (CAF)
Konami has signed a partnership agreement with CAF, the continental football federation representing 56 African nations. CAF organizes prestigious tournaments such as the Africa Cup of Nations, which determines the continent’s top football teams. This partnership brings African star players and tournament licenses into eFootball, allowing players to experience authentic African football events.

According to Konami’s Koji Kobayashi, the partnership expands gaming possibilities. He highlighted that it allows eFootball to deliver the passion of African football to fans worldwide. CAF General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba emphasized that this collaboration reflects CAF’s commitment to innovation, global fan engagement, and opportunities for African youth. To celebrate, the AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS 25 Campaign is live in eFootball, letting players engage with tournament events and African star players.
Tournament Format and Features

The FIFAe World Cup 2025 features 12 national representatives from regional qualifiers. In the console division, players compete in a 2v2 format, while the mobile division uses 1v1. Both divisions progress through group stages and knockout stages, culminating in the finals.

The new in-game update adds several features to enhance gameplay. The Advice feature provides real-time tactical feedback, while the Analysis tool visualizes playstyles from past matches. Ronald Koeman receives a “Link-Up Play” feature to improve crosses and shots.

Legendary player items, including Epic David Beckham and Epic Jan Koller, are available for a limited period. Other updates include Auto-Control, speed and acceleration adjustments, and improved defensive awareness, ensuring balanced gameplay and responsiveness throughout matches.

Watch and Earn Rewards

Fans can earn up to 2,500 eFootball points by watching live broadcasts. During the first three days, points are awarded for viewing console and mobile matches. On the final day, watching the console and mobile finals grants 1,000 points each. Engaging with broadcasts lets fans enjoy the tournament while earning in-game rewards.
