So you have decided to give a Star Ocean Anamnesis a shot after reading our review. As a  new player, you would have no doubts have questions that need answering before getting into the game as it is different from other Star Ocean games before it. Here is a compilation of the more frequently-asked questions:

Do I need to reroll for an amazing character upon starting?

Myuria is the only character in the pool right now who will really matter end-game, but even then she requires the Awakening mechanic which won’t be available until much later for the Global version. When you start, you will be able to pick from a lineup of available Ace characters and a guaranteed 5 star character ticket, so you will be getting a good headstart regardless. Also, the game is surprisingly generous with its premium currency, so you can amass them for when your actual character does show up.

How do I reroll?

Simply not link your account to Facebook, Game Center or Google Play account. Clear the game cache and you will be good to go once you reboot the game.

Will I need to play all the other Star Ocean games to understand this one?

Star Ocean Anamnesis is designed for newcomers and fans alike. The story is self-contained and easy to follow. With that being said, do give the rest of the series a try as you will be able to appreciate the characters you use here that much more.

What should I be doing first?

Run through the campaign as some aspects of the game is still locked before you reach a certain point in the story. When you gain enough rank, you will have the sufficient stamina to partake in events. Also, do all three Maze of Tribulations runs daily

How do I set my loan units?

When you edit your party, simply long press on one of your characters. Once you do, you will see their details. Tap the “On Loan” button in the lower right and your followers will be able to borrow them for solo missions

Does the Rush Mode order matter?

When a character’s Rush Mode is activated, a damage modifier is tacked on for every subsequent activation. The general idea is to have the weakest character initiate the Rush, ending with the strongest character. For example, Miki the healer should begin her Rush, while Maria goes next. Lastly, you want someone like Myuria or Cliff to clean up.

What are support medals?

When followers borrow your loan unit, you will be rewarded up to 750 support medals daily. You can use these to pull from a special banner called the Support Medals Box Draw which contains a bunch of goodies which include 5 star tickets. Once you clear out the box, it will refresh itself. As such it makes no difference if you do a single pull or do a 10 at a time, as you will end up having to clear it anyway.
