The story follows Velvet, a woman seeking revenge after experiencing personal tragedy in the sacred kingdom of Midgand. Players guide her and her group of companions through an archipelago as they navigate themes of emotion and reason.
Tales of Berseria Remastered features updated graphics and improved gameplay compared to the original 2016 release. The combat system lets players freely select Artes to create combos and collect enemy Souls for extended attack chains. New quality-of-life improvements include destination markers and the option to turn off random enemy encounters, making exploration easier.

The remaster also includes a selection of downloadable content from the original version, offering character outfits from previous Tales games and additional equipment.
