Medicine becomes increasingly important as you progress through Where Winds Meet. While early quests provide plenty of free healing items, the supply dwindles in later stages. Learning to craft your own medicine ensures you’re always prepared for challenging encounters and boss fights.
Before you can create medicine, you need to complete a specific quest called Guidance Legacy: Healer’s Calling. This quest is given by an NPC named Mu Ji’an and serves as your gateway to crafting. Completing it promotes your Healer Initiate to Tier 1, which unlocks the ability to craft medicine and level up your healing skills.

Crafting medicine requires specific materials. The main ingredients you’ll need are Herbs, Buddha’s Tears, and other items depending on the medicine type. You have two options for obtaining these materials:
- Purchase them from shops, such as the Peddler at Heaven’s Pier
- Collect them while exploring the world

For Level 1 potions specifically, you can skip crafting entirely and buy them directly from shops if you prefer. Once you have the necessary materials, you can begin crafting. Manual crafting allows you to create up to 5 medicines at a time. However, this method has limitations when you need larger quantities.
For bulk production, visit a Crafting Zone and locate a Refining Pot. This tool lets you refine materials and create multiple medicines in a single batch, making it more efficient than manual crafting.

Medicine crafting ties directly into the game’s overall survival and progression systems. Where Winds Meet encourages players to engage with various mechanics beyond combat, and crafting serves as one of several activities that add depth to your martial arts journey. Whether you’re preparing for world boss encounters that feature their own cutscenes and backstories, or simply stocking up before exploring the game’s misty mountains and complex dungeons, having a steady supply of medicine keeps you ready for whatever challenges await in the Jiang Hu.
