Sega has officially confirmed that Yakuza hero Ichiban Kasuga will join Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on November 6. The announcement came during a Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio livestream, which showcased Ichiban’s car, decals, and a special nameplate designed around the Yakuza series. The addition brings a new burst of personality to the growing crossover racer.

Ichiban Joins the Race
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth was one of Sega’s biggest successes in 2024, and Ichiban quickly became a fan favorite. Now, he’s set to bring his confident energy to the tracks of CrossWorlds. Alongside his debut, a Yakuza-themed festival will begin on November 7. Players can expect new challenges, cosmetic items, and themed rewards during the event. With this update, Sega continues to celebrate its most popular franchises in creative ways.

A Growing Lineup of Crossovers

Over the past year, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has evolved into one of the most ambitious crossover titles from Sega. The game already features guest characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Minecraft, and Persona 5. Earlier this month, Joker from Persona 5 joined the lineup, bringing his own festival and themed rewards. Now, Ichiban adds a new dynamic to the roster, representing one of Sega’s most beloved series. Each crossover not only adds fresh racers but also unique tracks and collectibles inspired by their worlds.
What’s Next for CrossWorlds
Sega has no plans to slow down. According to producer Takashi Iizuka, the team is preparing more collaborations through 2026. Fans can look forward to appearances from Pac-Man, Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Furthermore, Iizuka mentioned that additional seasons of DLC are being considered, extending the game’s lifespan well beyond its first year.
Since its launch in September 2025, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has been praised for its creativity and support for post-launch content. With Ichiban Kasuga’s arrival, the game once again proves that Sonic’s world is big enough for all of Sega’s legends. This November, players will have the chance to hit the track in true Yakuza style—fast, flashy, and full of flair.
