Nexon has just announced that it has made a strategic investment in developer StudioBside, which founded back in July 2017 by former members who worked on Closers and Elsword, although the figure was not disclosed.

StudioBside is currently working on CounterSide and has released teaser video its upcoming project. The game is being described as a strategic action RPG which tells a story about “Watch Counters” to fight against “Erosions”, an unknown enemy that’s threatening the world. The story revolves around a new natural resource known as “Eternium”. While it’s a strategic RPG, the game allows action plays directly based on the player’s strategy. There are other characters that players can collect to make up the best strategic team for the campaign mode or in real-time PvP. The game will also feature Live 2D graphics which gives a nice touch for anime-like artsyles.

The investment deal grants Nexon global publishing rights of CounterSide and preferred rights for future games developed by the company.
