Bandai Namco Filmworks has announced a new way to own Gundam GQuuuuuuX content, introducing what the company is calling its first-ever “diskless package” for the popular anime series.
Bandai Namco Filmworks will release physical editions of the TV series in three volumes starting next year, with each volume containing four episodes. The releases are scheduled for January 28, February 25, and March 25, 2026. Along with a standard Blu-ray version and DVD version, the company will offer the new diskless package option.

Unlike traditional physical media, the diskless package comes as a physical box with a serial code inside. When you enter the code, you can access bonus content including creditless opening and ending animations and an audio drama for the series. The serial code will stop working one year after the package’s release date.
The diskless package gives you access to some of the same bonus features found on the Blu-ray version, but it does not include the actual anime episodes. To watch the series, you would need to purchase the DVD version separately or use a streaming service.
The three versions are priced differently. The limited-edition Blu-ray package costs 19,800 yen (about $130 USD), the DVD version is 6,600 yen (about $43 USD), and the diskless package is 8,800 yen (about $58 USD). A physical edition of the theatrical film will also be released on May 27, 2026, available in 4K ULTRA HD Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray, and DVD formats.

The Gundam GQuuuuuuX TV anime has been a major success this year. The theatrical film earned 3.5 billion yen (around $23 million USD) at the box office, while the TV series attracted strong viewership and online attention. The series was created through a partnership between Studio Khara and Bandai Namco Filmworks.
