Bengaluru-based Aeos Games has dropped a 12-minute early alpha gameplay trailer for Unleash the Avatar, an Indian Epics-inspired Soulslike that feels like Ghost of Tsushima met Devdas in a fever dream of parries, divine auras, and dramatic slow-motion hair flips.
The game promises intense combat, rich mythological themes, and enough cinematic flair to make 80s Bollywood fight choreographers proud.
Bollywood Meets Soulslike

Set in an alternate version of India where Naraka (hell) has inconveniently burst through the dimensional barrier, Unleash the Avatar puts you in the shoes of a divine warrior blessed by Lord Vishnu himself. But instead of brooding in silence like most Souls protagonists, this hero brings pure main-character energy — the kind that involves dodging attacks with flair, parrying blows while yawning, and combing his hair mid-boss fight because, well, style matters.

The trailer shows off Vishwapur, a once-beautiful coastal region now crawling with Nisthari Rakshas. Between the haunting vistas and the chaos of battle, it’s easy to forget you’re not watching a high-budget Bollywood fantasy film. Every clash feels like a perfectly timed musical cue away from a dance sequence.
Aura Farming and Handcrafted Chaos

Aeos Games isn’t kidding when they say the game is built “from first principles.” Every animation, enemy AI, and photogrammetry-scanned texture is handcrafted — no generative AI shortcuts here, just good old-fashioned passion and precision. But what really stands out is the “aura farming,” a spiritual cousin to soul gathering that sounds like something out of an ancient training montage. Defeat your enemies, absorb their essence, and look good doing it.
The parry system, meanwhile, feels almost too satisfying — the kind that makes you want to keep countering just to watch sparks fly. In the trailer, the protagonist blocks every blow with the calmness of a man waiting for his chai to cool, before delivering a fatal backstab and striking a pose that says, “I told you not to mess with me.”
Handcrafted from the Heart (and Maybe a Bit of Drama)

Aeos Games’ CEO Rohan Mayya describes Unleash the Avatar as a love letter to Soulslikes — but it’s more than that. It’s an unashamed celebration of spectacle. Every move feels over-the-top in the best way, a reminder that games can be both challenging and delightfully dramatic.
No loot boxes. No battle passes. Just pure action, divine vengeance, and enough swagger to fill three movie posters. It’s Soulslike combat — but with Bollywood timing, Indian mythos, and a hero who refuses to break eye contact with the camera.
With a planned 2026 release on PC, Unleash the Avatar is shaping up to be the most stylish, spiritually-charged parry-fest this side of the Ganges.
