Insomniac Games has announced that Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on PlayStation 5 in Fall 2026, along with revealing a brand-new trailer during Sony’s State of Play presentation. The game will be exclusive to PlayStation 5 consoles and marks Insomniac’s next superhero project following their successful Marvel’s Spider-Man series. The studio is working together with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment to create an original story based on Marvel Comics.
Actor Liam McIntyre will voice Wolverine (Logan) in the game. The story follows Logan as he tries to uncover secrets from his mysterious past. Players can expect a darker tone compared to Insomniac’s previous superhero games, focusing on Wolverine’s more brutal nature. The game will feature Logan’s signature adamantium claws and healing abilities. Combat is designed to be fast and fluid, with Wolverine using his claws and berserker rage to take down enemies. The developers promise dismemberment and breaking mechanics for enemies who get in Wolverine’s way.

Characters and Locations
Several familiar faces from the Marvel universe will appear in the game. Players will encounter Mystique and the villain Omega Red during Logan’s journey. The Reavers will serve as one of the main enemy groups. The trailer also showed a purple robot that fans of the comics will likely recognize.
The story will take players to different locations around the world, including:
- Madripoor (an island nation)
- Canada’s wilderness areas
- Tokyo’s city streets
These locations will serve as battlegrounds for the game’s action sequences. Marvel’s Wolverine is being built specifically for PlayStation 5. Insomniac says the game will include their usual features like accessible gameplay options and action-packed scenes. The trailer also includes descriptive audio options for players who need them.

The studio revealed new cover art for the game, created with help from comic artist Jock. The cover art aims to capture both Wolverine’s tough personality and comic book style. Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on PlayStation 5 consoles in Fall 2026. Insomniac Games plans to share more details about the game in Spring 2026, closer to the release date.
This will be Insomniac’s first M-rated game in years, reflecting the more violent and mature themes that come with the Wolverine character compared to their Spider-Man titles.
