PLAYISM and Crimson Dusk announced that the 3D action game Homura Hime will launch for PC via Steam this winter. Furthermore, players will have the chance to try the game at Tokyo Game Show 2025, which runs from September 25 to 28 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan.

About the Game

Homura Hime draws heavy inspiration from Japanese anime, combining its vibrant art direction with expressive emotional storytelling. As a result, the game offers a fast-paced 3D action experience where players dodge enemy barrages, unleash stylish combos, and face archdemons consumed by twisted emotions.

Alongside Homura Hime, you will fight to uncover both the truth behind these demons and her veiled legacy. In addition, the combat system emphasizes precision and rewards mastery. Players must learn to parry, dodge, and chain skills in order to create fluid and flashy attacks.

The Developer: Crimson Dusk

The game comes from Crimson Dusk, a Taiwanese indie studio founded in May 2020. However, the project began much earlier when creator Sam revealed the prototype of Homura Hime at a student contest in 2018. Because of the overwhelmingly positive feedback, Sam decided to continue development. Eventually, this success led to the official formation of the studio.

Stage Showcase

The first stage, Adashino, blends beauty and unease as it is surrounded by greenery yet filled with graves and Jizo statues. Here, players can test Homura Hime’s basic abilities before reaching the climax of the stage. Ultimately, she must face Agasa, an archdemon who takes on the unsettling form of a young girl.

Story Overview

In Homura Hime’s world, humans and demons coexist. Nevertheless, souls burdened by regret at death transform into archdemons, who then corrupt the land and spread chaos. Their corruption also spawns monsters that rely only on primal instinct.

Therefore, the High Priestess entrusts Homura Hime—the “Flame Princess” and strongest exorcist—with a divine mission. With her aide Ann by her side, she must purify the land and defeat five immensely powerful demon girls. Otherwise, the world risks falling into complete ruin.
