Nintendo announced a new DLC expansion for Pokémon Legends: Z-A during the September Nintendo Direct. The add-on content is called Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension and will let players explore more of the game’s world. The DLC centers around Hoopa, a Mythical Pokémon that can bend space using the rings on its horns and body. Hoopa plays a key role in the expanded story that comes with Mega Dimension.

Players will also get to see two brand new Mega Evolutions in this DLC – Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y. These are newly discovered forms that haven’t appeared in previous Pokémon games.

When you buy the DLC, you get some immediate rewards. These include new Holo-X and Holo-Y clothing sets that you can use to change how your character looks right away. If you purchase Mega Dimension before February 28, 2026, you’ll also get a Luxurious Poké Ball Set. This set contains different types of Poké Balls that work especially well for catching specific kinds of Pokémon.

The main story content of the DLC will continue your adventure with Team MZ after you finish the original Pokémon Legends: Z-A story. Mega Dimension works on both the regular Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 system. You can access the DLC whether you own the standard version of Pokémon Legends: Z-A or the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

Players preorder the DLC now. The additional story content will be available soon after the DLC launches on October 16, 2025.
