On August 21, Square Enix released Triangle Strategy, their tactical RPG for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Triangle Strategy previously launched on the Nintendo Switch in 2022, before heading to Steam later that year, has now made its debut on current-gen consoles. This allows for both new and returning audiences to experience this blend of tactical RPG and political warfare.

Triangle Strategy is a tactical RPG set in Norzelia, where the dramatic story is told through multiple perspectives. This game is a love letter by Square Enix to RPG fans, as the story tests your commitment and conscience with choices that will heavily affect the outcome and endings. Players navigate these choices based on ideals like Utility, Morality, and Liberty, as these unseen parameters will affect not only how the plot unfolds but which future party members will be recruited. Not only that, the Scales of Convictions system will push these decisions even further, as your allies will use a voting process to decide your fate. This system will force the players to carefully persuade their allies, whose nuanced perspective may not align with your own convictions.
With a cast of 30 to choose from, form a band of party by utilising the diverse cast’s unique abilities, classes, and strategies, but also deciding on how to take advantage of the type of the battlefield’s terrain and elevation levels. Unique strategies like encompassing your enemies on both sides to perform follow up attacks are one of these available strategies to tackle in-game.
