Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Sucker Punch Productions revealed new details and DLC about their upcoming game Ghost of Yotei during gamescom 2025. The studio released a new trailer called Song of Vengeance and announced that players will get free multiplayer content called Legends in 2026.

The Legends mode will be free downloadable content for everyone who owns Ghost of Yotei, following the same approach as the previous Ghost of Tsushima Legends. According to Andrew Goldfarb, senior communications manager at Sucker Punch Productions, this new multiplayer mode will have a supernatural theme that contrasts with the main game’s more realistic world.

“Legends is our cooperative multiplayer mode featuring a fantastical, supernatural setting in contrast to the grounded world of Ghost of Yotei,” Goldfarb explained on the PlayStation Blog.

The Ghost of Yotei Legends mode will include two-player story missions and four-player survival matches. Players can choose from four different character classes as they battle against giant, demonic versions of the Yōtei Six, along with various new enemies that fight with them.

This announcement builds on the success of the original Ghost of Tsushima Legends, which was well-received by players when it launched as free additional content. The new Legends mode for Ghost of Yotei appears to follow a similar format while introducing fresh challenges and supernatural elements. Ghost of Yotei Legends is set to release in 2026 as free DLC for all Ghost of Yotei owners.
