Capcom showed during gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, focusing on main character Grace Ashcroft and her connection to the series. The trailer also confirmed the game’s release date of February 27, 2026, and announced that a playable demo was available for attendees at the event.
The trailer opens with Grace Ashcroft using her computer while her mother stays nearby. During her research, Grace receives a phone call from someone asking for Ms. Ashcroft. After Grace confirms her identity, the caller immediately hangs up and the power goes out. Grace’s mother then warns that some unnamed people are “here” and tells Grace they need to leave right away.
The video then switches between story scenes and gameplay footage. As Grace and her mother try to escape their building, they meet a neighbor in the hallway who apologizes to them. However, an unknown person kills the neighbor, forcing Grace and her mother to run away. During their escape, Grace’s mother calls her daughter her hope and tells Grace to never forget this. The trailer ends after something happens off-screen to interrupt their conversation.
Grace Ashcroft works as an FBI analyst who is looking into a series of strange deaths in Raccoon City. Her investigation takes place 30 years after the city was bombed during the events of Resident Evil 3. The Resident Evil Requiem trailer also features Grace’s mother, Alyssa Ashcroft, who appeared in Resident Evil Outbreak and plays an important role in the game’s mystery storyline.
