After years of waiting and countless memes, it looks like Hollow Knight fans may finally get a major update on their beloved franchise. On August 19, the day before Gamescom Opening Night Live, Geoff Keighley teased fans with a playful photo that could signal big news for Hollow Knight: Silksong.
The Clown Nose Teasing Hollow Knight: Silksong
Keighley posted a selfie wearing a red clown nose, directly referencing the long-running meme within the Hollow Knight community.

Fans often joked about “clowning” themselves every time Silksong was absent from major gaming showcases. His timing suggests the sequel might finally appear at Opening Night Live.
Signs Pointing Toward a Reveal
Evidence continues to pile up. Reports show that Silksong booths for Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2 are being prepared at the Gamescom venue.
In addition, Silksong has already been highlighted during Nintendo Direct earlier this year, with a 2025 release window. Team Cherry has also shown signs of activity, including new trailers and playable builds at smaller events.
Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Long Journey Since 2019

First announced in 2019 as a standalone sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong puts players in control of Hornet instead of The Knight. Over the years, excitement grew as details remained scarce, leading to memes and endless speculation. Now, with a demo confirmed at Gamescom 2025, the wait may finally be over.
Stay tuned to Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19 at 10 PM and check out Hollow Knight: Silksong official website.
