KONAMI celebrates eFootball‘s 30th Anniversary by rolling out new in-game content, welcoming football legends, unveiling powerful gameplay mechanics, and expanding its esports partnership with FIFA for the FIFAe World Cup 2025.
New Additions: Wayne Rooney, Dortmund, and More Legends

During the eFootball World Festival in Tokyo, KONAMI introduced two new Epic Legends, Wayne Rooney and Gareth Bale, available in-game starting July 21. Rooney joins eFootball’s roster with a unique 30th anniversary design, and more Legends will follow throughout the year.
Starting July 24, Borussia Dortmund joins eFootball, bringing with it the Signal Iduna Park stadium and eight player cards, three of which players can claim for free through special campaigns.

KONAMI also revealed a new licensing deal with the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA). The official 2025 PFA Team of the Year will be added in-game following the PFA Awards on August 19.

In mid-August, KONAMI will launch two new gameplay systems following the 2026 season update

Link Up: A tactical manager booster that activates unique team combos.

Treasure Link: A Bingo-style system where players link rewards on a board—some boards can be earned or traded during offline events.
FIFAe World Cup 2025: Bigger Than Ever

KONAMI will once again feature eFootball as a core title in the FIFAe World Cup 2025™, with the event set for December in Saudi Arabia. The renewed partnership with FIFA will last through 2026, with even more global reach this time.
