Capcom announced during their June Spotlight event that Sagat, the legendary Muay Thai fighter, will join the Street Fighter 6 roster on August 5. The towering warrior will be available across all platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and the newly released Nintendo Switch 2.

Players can expect to visit the mountains of Thailand as Sagat’s new stage, complete with what appears to be a large statue visible in the background. Sagat will also serve as a new Master in the game’s World Tour mode, allowing players to learn from the former emperor of Muay Thai.

To build excitement for Sagat’s arrival, Capcom will launch the “Sagat Arrives Fighting Pass” on July 4. This pass includes Sagat-themed content and new EX colors for classic fighters Ryu and Ken that can be used in Fighting Ground mode. A gameplay trailer showing Sagat in action is expected to release soon.

The August 5 update brings more than just Sagat. Seven Street Fighter 6 characters will receive new swimwear outfits as part of Outfit 4, perfect for summer gaming sessions. Cammy, Luke, Chun-Li, Manon, Jamie, Kimberly, and A.K.I. will all get beach-ready looks, with the remaining roster members receiving swimwear at a later date.

Looking ahead to competitive play, Capcom announced that Capcom Cup 12 will return to Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan Arena from March 11-15, 2026. The tournament will feature a $1 million grand prize for the third year running.

Street Fighter fans can also catch the upcoming Sajam Slam 5 tournament, where 32 top streamers team up with eight professional coaches in an eight-team competition. The winner earns a trip to Evo USA 2025. Street Fighter 6 continues to expand its roster and content across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
