Publisher Shueisha Games and developer SAYIL GAMES have revealed their upcoming sci-fi action game BAKUDO, which mixes ball-sport gameplay with intense combat mechanics. The game will launch on PC through Steam, though no release date has been set yet. BAKUDO takes place at an elite academy where students compete in a high-energy ball-sport combat system. Players control Yuria, a student who joins the academy while searching for her missing father. As she navigates academy life, she discovers the school hides darker secrets beneath its competitive surface.
The game’s main feature is its real-time boss-rush combat that centers around ball-throwing mechanics. Players must study their opponents’ patterns and find the right moments to strike back. The combat system promises fast-paced action without traditional rules or limits, where quick thinking and timing matter most.
At the academy, players will face off against the Eight Stars – the school’s top fighters who each have their own unique fighting styles. These elite opponents serve as the game’s main bosses, requiring players to learn specific strategies to defeat each one. The story follows Yuria as she builds relationships with other students while uncovering a larger conspiracy within the academy. The game combines this narrative with what the developers call “an all-new ball game packed with excitement and tension.”

BAKUDO promises to offer something different in the action game space by blending sports mechanics with traditional combat gameplay. The unique concept of using ball-sport techniques in boss battles sets it apart from typical action games. Steam users can now add BAKUDO to their wishlists while waiting for more details about the official release date.
