Capcom has announced major changes to its Challenge Quest reward structure for Monster Hunter Wilds. The developer revealed that beginning with the current “Doshaguma of the Hollow” Challenge Quest, rewards will no longer be tied to specific leaderboard rankings.
The update aims to “provide all hunters a reasonable and fair opportunity to obtain event rewards,” according to the official announcement. While hunters will still be able to view rankings on the Expedition Record Board, future Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will disconnect exclusive rewards from leaderboard positions.

In addition to the reward system changes, Capcom addressed concerns about competitive integrity by implementing stricter anti-cheat measures. The development team is currently reviewing Arena Quests and Challenge Quests clear times for “irregularities or glitches” and will remove times deemed “clearly unnatural” from the rankings.
Players found to be cheating face potential account suspension or banning, with their clear times removed from the rankings and forfeiture of event rewards. The final ranking results for Challenge Quests will undergo a 1-to-2-week review period following the end of quest distribution, with rewards distributed after the investigation concludes.
Time-based Competition Quests have been a popular feature in Monster Hunter Wilds, offering various formats including Arena Quests, Free Challenge Quests, and limited-time Challenge Quests. These activities allow players to compete for fastest completion times using either pre-determined equipment sets or gear of their own choosing, depending on the quest type.
The company thanked players for their participation and feedback, encouraging hunters to continue setting their best possible times in these competitive quests despite the reward structure changes.
