Konami has officially revealed the PC system requirements for its upcoming psychological horror title SILENT HILL f, confirming that players won’t need cutting-edge hardware to experience the game’s Japanese-set nightmare.

According to the recently updated Steam page, SILENT HILL f will run at 720p/30fps on relatively modest systems. Minimum requirements include an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 processor paired with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5700 graphics card. For smoother 60fps gameplay, players will need slightly more powerful components like an Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, alongside an RTX 2080 or Radeon RX 6800 XT GPU.

Both configuration tiers require Windows 11, at least 16GB of RAM, and over 50GB of storage space. Konami specifically recommends installing the game on an SSD for optimal performance. The game will also support 4K resolution through upscaling technologies like Nvidia DLSS.

SILENT HILL f represents a significant departure for the long-running horror series, moving away from the foggy American town of SILENT HILL to the fictional Japanese locale of Ebishugaoka. Players will follow high school student Hinako Shimizu in a story set during the 1960s. Lead writer Ryukishi07 has revealed that the setting draws inspiration from the hot spring tourism town of Gero in Japan’s Gifu Prefecture.

The game includes a disclaimer noting that certain depictions based on Japanese customs from the 1960s era might be considered unacceptable by modern standards, clarifying that these historical representations don’t reflect the developers’ current viewpoints. The ESRB rating indicates the game will contain graphic scenes of torture, gender discrimination, and child abuse.
