The acquisitions will expand their network to 26 worldwide locations, bringing the company’s total headcount to over 1,200 development experts. Each studio brings unique strengths to the existing portfolio:

• Pipeworks will become their lead game development studio in North America, boasting a 25-year legacy of creating beloved titles like Terraria and Call of Duty.
• Abstraction is set to enhance the engineering capabilities, with a notable portfolio including Baldur’s Gate 3 and Dune: Awakening.
• Umanaïa will focus on innovative IP development with experience from franchises like Assassin’s Creed and For Honor.

Virtuos CEO Gilles Langourieux emphasized the company’s strategic vision of creating a more flexible and sustainable game development model. “With the integration of Abstraction, Pipeworks, and Umanaïa, alongside our existing studios, Virtuos has combined local presence with the adaptability of a global network,” Langourieux explained.
