Valve had recently announced two new mobile apps that will be released during the week of May 21st. The mobile apps apparently will allow players to play any game or video from your Steam Library on any supported iOS or Android devices. Looking at PC games that are usually only compatible for PC only, the idea of playing those games on your mobile anywhere you are is not a dream.

This is in line with the recent news that Valve’s Source 2 Engine which works on mobiles too. With the newly introduced Steam Link apps, we would probably be able to play any games that uses the Source 2 Engine. Looking at Unity and Unreal Engine that is used most often for mobile games nowadays, it’s possible that we will also get to play games developed with those engines as well.

Nonetheless, in order to play your Steam games on your phone, your PC will need to stay connected to either a 5Ghz network or via ethernet. It’s also unsure if we will be able to use the Steam Controller or MFI controllers as PC games don’t support touch controls unless there’s a feature that enables us to customize the controls to fit for our mobile.
