Silent Hill 2 Remake, published by Konami and developed by Bloober Team reportedly had surpassed 1 million copies sold by October 11, three days after the game launched on October 8. This info was revealed in an official press release by Konami in this post. For your information, the 1 million sales numbers include both physical shipments of the game as well as digital downloads of the game.

Although the numbers may seem low compared to other popular titles like Call of Duty, it’s important to remember that the horror genre tends to have a more niche audience. Additionally, the fact that this is a remake of a sequel might have caused some confusion among players.

The original Silent Hill 2 was developed by Team Silent of Konami and released in 2001 for the PS2. Since the remake’s release, some of the original developers have shared their thoughts, with Masahiro Ito noting that Bloober made the “right choice” by changing the design for a specific boss fight.
