Well this certainly was not what we were expecting. Nintendo just dropped a bombshell of a product reveal and its not the hotly-anticipated successor to the Nintendo Switch. But instead, the Japanese tech giant doing what their known for by creating unconventional yet innovative products, had unveiled a sound alarm clock by the name of “Alarmo”.
It will be slated for a retail release sometime in early 2025 with a price tag of $99.99. However, for those active Nintendo Switch Online subscription members living in North America, more specifically the United States & Canada, you can purchase it early via their official store as of writing this piece. Alternatively, fans who happen to drop by Nintendo’s New York store, you can purchase it without requiring the aforementioned online membership.
The interactive alarm clock, Alarmo, utilises motion sensor technology, allowing users to snooze by simply moving in bed, such as stopping the alarm by getting out of bed. Alarmo is designed to be practical while also aesthetically complementing the lifestyle of gamers. Users can wake up to sounds inspired by five Nintendo titles—Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventure—by picking from 35 scenes and setting a time for Alarmo to handle the rest.

With Alarmo by your bedside, you can start your day to the sounds of the Mushroom Kingdom with Mario and friends or embark on an adventure with Link and Princess Zelda as you prepare for the day ahead. The device offers various modes to configure your wake-up experience, including Steady and Gentle Modes for the morning alarm. In Steady Mode, the alarm gradually becomes more intense the longer you stay in bed, while Gentle Mode provides a consistent intensity level for a less intrusive wake-up call. For those who prefer a more traditional experience, there is also a Button Mode, allowing for a tactile “hit the snooze button” experience. Additionally, Alarmo can track how much you move in your sleep through its Records feature.

Plus, as an added bonus, Nintendo had already dropped a Day 1 update, one of which had enabled the clock’s distance from the bed be set to complement King/Super King size beds. Also on Alarmo, if you link your Nintendo Account you can download scenes from the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons games via free updates when they become available. So we can expect newer updates on the product’s enjoyment.
All in all, It seems like that this can be a gamer’s bedside companion especially for fans who are looking to add a bit more Nintendo flair in their sleep routine.
