Publisher PLAYISM and Grayfax Software, known for their previous title “Orangeblood,” have unveiled their latest project: “Nitro Express.” PLAYISM and Grayfax Software plan to release this pixel art side-scrolling action game on PC via Steam in 2025.

Set in the fictional Nitro City, a reimagined version of Tokyo, “Nitro Express” puts players in the role of a member of the Atypical Vehicle Disposal Squad (AVDS). The game’s narrative revolves around eliminating rogue autonomous drones, referred to as “Companions” or “Atypical Vehicles,” that pose a threat to society.

In terms of gameplay, “Nitro Express” emphasizes shooting mechanics with a variety of weapons and gadgets at the player’s disposal. For instance, the arsenal includes traditional firearms as well as specialized equipment such as EMPs, radio-controlled drones, turrets, flamethrowers, and anti-tank missiles. Additionally, the game features a total of 12 different gadgets for players to utilize.

Moreover, “Nitro Express” incorporates a positioning system that affects weapon accuracy and damage, adding a tactical element to the combat. Consequently, players will face diverse enemies, including heavily armored targets like tanks and helicopters, requiring strategic use of different weapons and gadgets.
