Wuthering Waves will release version 1.2 on August 15, 2024 and it will include a free 5-star resonator along with new quality-of-life-features. The official X account of Wuthering Waves has tweeted sharing a sneak peek of what version 1.2 will have including a special note from the development team.

Wuthering Waves released on May 17, 2024, and has quickly gained a huge player base in that short amount of time. Kuro Games have built a reputation as they listen actively to the community and consistently improve the game’s features. The developer’s note is a testament to that.

Key Highlights of Version 1.2 “In the Turquoise Moonglow”

• Custom Lock-On Option: Players can now enable Custom Lock-On from the Options menu, allowing them to set their Lock-On Priority based on Movement Direction, Camera Direction, or Distance.

  

• New Utility – Hoverdroid: This new utility enables all characters to shoot projectiles, letting players complete shooting challenges without needing to switch to Pistol characters.

  

• Excess Waveplate Storage: Once Waveplate storage is full, Waveplate crystals will be stored, up to a maximum of 480. One Waveplate Crystal will regenerate every 12 minutes, with each crystal being equivalent to one Waveplate.

  

• Support for 120 FPS: Version 1.2 introduces a 120 FPS option for PC players.
• Resonator Showcase: Players can now view and display the convene scenes of unlocked Resonators, enhancing bragging rights.

  

• More Illusive Realm Rewards: New items will be added to the Illusive Store, available through convene events.
• More Points from Waveplate Activity: The activity points reward for the Daily Quest to Spend 180 Waveplates will increase to 60, up from 20.

Additionally, two new 5-star characters, Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao, will be introduced with the latter coming in the second phase of version 1.2 for free. They have also announced a new event coming titled “Moon-Chasing Festival” which will have its details revealed on a later date. Previously, Kuro Games have also announced that Wuthering Waves will be coming to PS5.
