Developer and publisher Koei Tecmo announced that the Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake will launch digitally on October 24 for PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam. In Japan, the Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake will also be released physically and digitally, offering standard and limited editions for all platforms.

Enjoy a world where all playable officers can become the protagonist, form bonds and evolve their relationships in ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 8 REMAKE.
More than 55 scenarios spanning over 80 years and featuring the largest number of officers in the series, from rulers to free officers. Play through a vast, deep, and turbulent Three Kingdoms period as you choose. Many new features have been added to portray a variety of human dramas, such as “Tales” in which players can choose which events unfold. In addition, you can be linked by “Destiny” with other officers, and gain special relationships.
The relationship or “Links Forged” between each officer greatly affects how the gameplay unfolds. Changes in that relationship can be ascertained from the “Relationship Chart”.
In addition to newly drawn officer graphics, the scenic beauty of the game is depicted using ink paintings, combining 2D visuals and 3D depth to create a beautiful visual experience of the world of the Three Kingdoms.
In Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake, a standout strategic feature comes in the form of “Traits,” enhancing the distinctiveness of officers based on their historical achievements or memorable anecdotes. For instance, Cao Cao’s ability to act twice during councils and Liu Bei’s unwavering ability to convene with officers exemplify the depth added by these unique traits.
The game introduces a wealth of new elements to highlight the evolving relationships between characters. Central to this is the “Relationship Chart,” which vividly illustrates the dynamics between characters. It categorizes relationships into familiar bonds like “Sworn Siblings” and “Spouses,” while also depicting nuanced connections such as “Destined Partners,” “Rivals,” and “Sworn Enemies.” These relationships aren’t merely cosmetic but influence gameplay, with “Linked Forge” alliances enhancing performance during battles and missions as bonds deepen.
Moreover, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake launch incorporates a dynamic storytelling mechanism through “Tales,” enabling players to engage in pivotal historical events and officer anecdotes at their discretion.
