In their official developer discussion, HoYoverse has just unveiled the Genshin Impact 4.8 update, which promises to deliver significant quality-of-life improvements to players.
One of the biggest changes is that all bosses on the world map will respawn after a break of just ten seconds with the exception of Lupus Boreas and Dominator of Wolves. This change will significantly make the process of obtaining essential character ascension materials easier similar to the previous update.
A big change is also coming to Encounter Points, which is the mechanic that allows you to claim daily rewards at the Adventurer’s Guild without having to complete the daily quests. Currently, you can get four Encounter Points by exploring, battling, and other in game quests, and then claim your daily Adventurer’s Guild reward which has been the most reliable way of getting Primogems every day.
Starting from version 4.8, players can accumulate Encounter Points beyond the daily limit of four. The game will convert the Encounter Points into Long-Term Encounter Points and store them. When you consume 30 Original Resin while farming or crafting Condensed Resin, you can convert a Long-Term Encounter Point back into an Encounter Point if you still need one to complete your daily goal. Each large update will reset Long-Term Encounter Points.
The update will be a great addition to ensure you can get your full daily rewards even if you don’t have the time to go exploring or finish quests every day. Other quality improvements are also coming to the Spiral Abyss, where you can now drag and drop characters between your two team line-ups for smoother roster swaps.
