ASUS announced that its first ultra-thin 16-inch AI-powered laptop – the ASUS Zenbook S 16 (UM5606), is now available for pre-orders in Malaysia.

The new Zenbook S 16 has received a complete redesign, now with a new chassis that incorporates Ceraluminium and ceramic hybrid material – finished in a choice of two color choices: Zumaia Gray or Scandinavian White.

The device is powered by the latest AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor with Radeon 890M graphics, capable of up to 50 dedicated NPPU TOPS, along with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

Boasting a full set of I/O ports, the laptop has two USB4 Type-C, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, HDMI 2.1, an SD card reader, and an audio combo jack, while its connection uses Wi-Fi 7 with ASUS Wi-Fi Master Premium certification.

For audiovisual experience, the ASUS Zenbook S 16 has a 3K 120 Hz ASUS Lumina OLED
display, which is Pantone Validated and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified with a 100% DCI-P3 gamut.

Meanwhile, its six-speaker audio system is Harmon Kardon-certified with two high-frequency tweeters and four low-frequency woofers that deliver full-range multi-dimensional Dolby Atmos sound.

Utilize advanced CNC milling, the laptop incorporates a 3D vapor chamber in the ultra-quiet ambient cooling system that is said to be able to run a maximum performance of up to 28 W CPU TDP with under -25 dB noise.

In terms of security, the Zenbook S 16 supports Windows passkeys and Microsoft Pluton, integrating hardware, firmware, and software to defend against threats.

The Windows passkey uses the Windows Hello facial recognition, enabled by the ASUS AiSense IR camera which also supports Adaptive Lock, which automatically locks the laptop when the user is away and unlocks again when the user returns, and Adaptive Dimming, which dims the screen when the user looks away.

Pricing and Availability

The ASUS Zenbook S 16 (UM5606) is now available for pre-orders in Malaysia starting from 28 June to 9 July 2024, priced at RM 7,999.

Available in both Ceraluminum finishes – Zumaia Gray and Scandinavian White, the laptop will come with a pre-order bundle worth RM 698, comprising a 4-port 100W GaN USB Charger worth RM 499 and 1-year extended warranty coverage worth RM 199, while stocks last during the pre-order period.

Pre-orders are available online exclusively on Shopee and the ASUS eStore.
