Xiaomi Malaysia has officially announced the launch date and pricing of its newest smartphone lineup, the Xiaomi 14 series.

As one of the first markets in Southeast Asia to launch, the Xiaomi 14 will be available in Malaysia on March 8th, 2024, with a starting price of RM 3,499.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra showcases a distinctive circular camera module with a streamlined flat back design and is available in Malaysia in two classic colors, Black and White.

The exterior of the phone is engineered around Xiaomi Guardian Structure, which consists of a high-strength aluminum frame, Xiaomi nano-tech vegan leather, and Xiaomi Shield Glass., the former two providing increased frame strength and wear resistance respectively.

As for the display, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra features an All-Around Liquid Display courtesy of Xiaomi Shield Glass, with consistent curvature on all sides and corners. the WQHD+ 6.73″ AMOLED display also allows for WQHD+ (3200 x 1440) resolution, a pixel density of 522 PPI, and a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate, alongside a peak brightness of 3000 nits.

For the main highlight of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, is its camera, the phone is equipped with a quad-camera configuration with focal lengths spanning from 12mm to 120mm. The main camera is fitted with a ƒ/1.63-ƒ/4.0 variable aperture, integrated with a 1-inch LYT-900 image sensor with a dynamic range of up to 14EV, complemented with the Leica 75mm floating telephoto camera, Leica 120mm periscope camera, and Leica 12mm ultra-wide camera.

8K 30fps is supported for all four cameras of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra with its Leica optics and 50MP sensor. Additionally, the main camera supports 4K 120fps and offers full-range zooming at 60fps. The phone also supports Dolby Vision shooting at 4K 60fps, with a 4-mic array implemented to allow for better recording of sounds. A new Movie mode also introduces cinematic industry practices like a 2.39:1 aspect ratio and 180° shutter rule.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra Photography Kit is also introduced alongside the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which offers a dedicated grip and case, a two-stage shutter button, a zoom lever, a customizable video recording button, and an additional custom dial. The kit also functions as an external charging battery bank with 1500mAH battery life.

For a more compact experience, we have the Xiaomi 14, which measures just 152.8mm x 71.5mm x 8.20mm and features a gently curved back panel.

The camera of the Xiaomi 14 features a triple-camera configuration, covering a focal range from 14mm to 75mm. The Leica Summilux optical lens on the main camera has been upgraded to a ƒ/1.6 aperture, combined with 13.5EV of dynamic range. Furthermore, the Leica 14mm ultra-wide camera has been upgraded to 50MP while also offering the Leica 75mm floating telephoto lens, with a minimum focus distance of just 10cm.

In terms of display, Xiaomi 14 features a 6.36″ CrystalRes AMOLED 1.5K (2670 x 1200) screen. With a 460 ppi screen pixel density. The display also allows for a peak brightness of 3000 nits, alongside a variable refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120Hz.

Both the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra are powered by the Snapdragon®️ 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, they are also equipped with Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 which brings Wi-Fi 7² compatibility. Xiaomi 14 Ultra also comes with a High band Simultaneous (HBS) Multi-Link.

The phones are also equipped with the Xiaomi IceLoop cooling system, with Xiaomi 14 Ultra introducing a dedicated second thermal channel exclusively for the camera module.

For battery, Xiaomi 14 is powered by a 4610mAh battery supported by 90W Hypercharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge, while Xiaomi 14 Ultra is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with 90W HyperCharge and 80 W Hypercharge.

The operating system used is the Xiaomi HyperOS, which embraces AI technology by integrating it into multiple system applications such as AI Subtitles, AI Album Search, AI Portraits, Xiaomi Hypermind, and more.

Pricing and Availability

Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes in Black and White, with one storage variant, priced at RM 5,199. The Xiaomi 14 comes in Black, White, and Jade Green, with two storage variants, priced from RM 3,499.

From March 8, the Xiaomi 14 will be available for purchase at all authorized Xiaomi stores in Malaysia, and at official Xiaomi stores on Lazada and Shopee. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be available for purchase starting from March 22.

4 generations of Android OS upgrades are included when you purchase the Xiaomi 14 or Xiaomi 14 Ultra, as well as 5 years of security patches. Users are also entitled to experience 100GB of Google One cloud storage for a 6-month trial.
