Frost Giant Studios, a company comprised of former Blizzard developers has revealed that their upcoming RTS game Stormgate will enter early access in 2024.
During The Game Awards 2023, a new trailer for Stormgate was shown, revealing that the game is coming to Steam early access in Summer 2024.
The new trailer was revealed by none other than Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu as he took on the stage at The Game Awards 2023, unveiling that he is a fan of the Starcraft series and will be part of Stormgate.
Simu Liu will be lending his voice to Warz, a demonic leader from the Infernal Host army and a playable character in the story mode of Stormgate.
In fact, the trailer showcased some of the narrative for the game and some sneak peek of gameplay with even a scene showcasing a unit spinning around like the Blademaster’s Bladestorm from Warcraft III.
Just recently, Frost Giant Studios launched a Kickstarter Campaign for Stormgate and it was quickly proven to be successful, surpassing its initial funding goal in a matter of minutes.
As of writing, the Kickstarter has crossed $ 1.1 million USD pledged with 55 more days remaining.
The game is also currently having a closed beta test for streamers, showcasing its competitive gameplay including 1 versus 1 and 3-player team co-op match.
Announced a year ago, Stormgate will be a free-to-play RTS from former developers of Starcraft and Warcraft III with Command & Conquer composer Frank Klepacki helming the game’s soundtrack.
