ASUS Announces New ROG Ally Variant With AMD Ryzen Z1 Processor

ASUS Republic of Gamers have announced a new ROG Ally gaming handheld variant which features an AMD Ryzen Z1 processor which is now available.

Built on the Zen 4 architecture, the Ryzen Z1 is a six-core, 12-thread processor paired with RDNA 3 graphic compute units, enabling full support for AMD’s upscaling technologies such as FSR and RSR.

The Z1-powered ROG Ally uses a dual-fan Zero Gravity thermal system with ultrathin heatsink fins and high-friction heat pipes.

The Ally is also equipped with 16 GB LPDDR5 6400 MHz memory, 512 GB of PCIe Gen 4 storage, and a UHS-II microSD card slot to expand storage capacity.

On top of a 120 Hz FHD (1080p) panel with FreeSync, the Ally also has a display capable of 500 nits brightness, as well as touchscreen functionality.

The Ally can connect to the XG Mobile ecosystem of external GPUs, providing the device with additional USB-C ports and display outputs, in addition of offering the power of up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU.
