Digimon Masters Evolution, A Digimon RPG Seemingly Leaks Online

A new trailer for a Digimon RPG titled Digimon Masters Evolution has seemingly leaked online, promising a new entry in the monster-raising franchise.

In an unlisted video, Move Interactive describes the game as being a spiritual successor to Digimon Masters, an old MMO from 2009 originally developed for Korea before slowly being published in other countries.

The game is set for a 2024 release date, though no platforms have been announced.

It should be noted that the trailer itself is surprisingly sparse of the usual Bandai Namco Entertainment affiliations- GamerBraves has reached out to the developers as well as Bandai Namco Entertainment for clarification if this is an officially licensed project or not, and will update with their response.

UPDATE: Bandai Namco Entertainment has denied that they are publishing the game in a statement to GamerBraves.

The trailer itself shows big open maps, with players being able to play as characters from Digimon Adventure 01 and fighting off various wild Digimon from Kunemon to Garbagemon.

Unlike many other Digimon RPGs, this looks to be following the Adventure format, where your partners will be able to Digivolve mid combat and revert back to their rookie forms after its’ done.

Interestingly enough, the UI also shows a second hotbar, seemingly for the human characters with what appears to be a physical attack as well as some sort of cheer, not unlike the cheer function in Digimon World: Next Order.

The trailer itself is dated 23rd September, which means the trailer could have been set to debut during Tokyo Games Show.

Digimon games run a huge gamut of genres, from the monster-raising RPG World series to the more traditional turn-based Cyber Sleuth to even the visual novel-slash-tactics Digimon Survive.

Given the renewed energy of the Digimon IP, it wouldn’t be surprising to see an MMO, especially one succeeding a previous title, join the roster.
