Koei Tecmo announced Atelier Resleriana, a new entry in the Atelier series that is set to launch on Android and iOS devices, as well as on the PC via Steam in 2023.

The game was revealed during the “Atelier Series New Work Announcement” live stream and is currently open for pre-registration, with no exact release date announced yet.

Akatsuki Games is co-developing Atelier Resleriana and like other Atelier games, the title also has a subtitle that is currently untranslated.

The Japanese subtitle for the game roughly translates to “The Forgotten Alchemy and the Liberator of the Polar Night”.

Takahiro, known for his work on Mato Seihei no Slave, is in charge of the story premise and series composition, while series creator Shinichi Yoshiike is supervising the project. Meanwhile, artists Umiu Geso and tokki are handling the character designs.

Story Synopsis

The story is set in the kingdom of Lantana, which once prospered through alchemy, however, the use of alchemy has long fallen into obscurity and has been forgotten by most people.

The protagonist, Resna, dreams of reviving the forgotten art of alchemy to the world once more, embarking on an adventure in search of The Continent of the End, a fabled land where clues of this ancient artform are believed to lie dormant.

Characters

Resna Sternenlicht (voiced by Saho Shirasu)

Protagonist and fledgling alchemist who is highly passionate about the art of alchemy, to the point of obsession. Whenever a conversation regarding alchemy starts, she gets very excited and begins speaking rapidly. She dreams of reintroducing the now-declining art of alchemy to the world.

Isana Kokoshka (voiced by Minami Tanaka)

Best friend of Resna and a high-spirited beastkin girl. Ever since a young age, she aspired to become the greatest knight of the kingdom. She and Resna pledged to assist each other in fulfilling their dreams and would often motivate each other. She wields a massive hammer as influenced by her blacksmith father.

Roman (voiced by Yūya Hirose)

An adventurer who self-proclaimed himself to be handsome. Resna encounters him in the royal capital and he appears to have interests in alchemy, thus offering companionship to Resna’s party. While he seems whimsical, Roman is still a skilled adventurer that can handle any situation with finesse.

Saskia (voiced by Mamiko Noto)

Strict yet kind-hearted alchemy mentor to Resna. She met Resna in a village during her travels and decided to mentor Resna on the fundamentals of alchemy. Saskia tends to be stern when it comes to the topic of alchemy and is a messy individual in her personal life, often leaving Resna to tidy up for her.

Pre-Registration Campaign 

As previously mentioned, Atelier Resleriana is now open for pre-registration and players who are interested can pre-register the game through the game’s official website, or the Google Play Store.

Koei Tecmo has prepared various rewards for players who pre-registered for the game depending on the milestone hit, with 100,000 registrants rewarding users with 100 Star Guidance Stones.

Upon hitting 200,000 registered players, another additional 100 Star Guidance Stones will be gifted out, and upon achieving the 300,000 registrants milestone, users will receive another 100 Star Guidance Stones, accumulating to 300 total, as well as a free SSR character.
