Snowbreak: Containment Zone is receiving its first significant event update in the form of “Mingdeng Ritual”, which features a multitude of new content including new Operatives, outfits, game modes, and more.
The Mingdeng Ritual event celebrates the in-game Sky-Lantern Festival and is scheduled to start from August 7th, 2023 to September 21st, 2023 (UTC+8).
The upcoming Mingdeng Ritual series major event will be segmented into 3 phases and the starting dates are as follows:
- The First Phase starts on August 7th (After the maintenance) (UTC+8)
- Features the “Mingdeng Ritual” story stages, “Luck and Fortune” event shop, “Divine Essence Calender” event mission, “Strike of Midnight” battle stage, and “Dispute of the Towers” challenge stage
- The Second Phase starts on August 14th (UTC+8)
- Features the “Lighting the Way” Taste gameplay
- The Third Phase starts on August 21st (UTC+8)
- Features the “Midnight Patrol” trial
New Operatives
5★ Chenxing – Ethereal Cloud
4★ Siris – The Goldfish
From August 7th to August 31st, 4 AM (UTC+8), both 5★ Chenxing – Ethereal Cloud & 4★ Siris – The Goldfish will be featured in a rate-up banner called “Moonlift River“, which boosts their drop rate probability.
After that, 5★ Lyfe – Wild Hunt will also receive her feature rate-up banner called “Fimbulvetr’s Signal” from August 31st to September 21st.
New Weapon
In addition to Operatives, the new Anti-Evil Ward assault rifle will also be added to the game in its own Weapon Echo banner “Cinnabar Justice” from August 7th to August 28th, 4 AM (UTC+8).

Mingdeng Ritual – Phase 1
During the event period, players will follow the story of Chenxing as she works on an escort mission on the day of Mingdeng Jie.
As players clear the event stages, they will obtain Lucky Coin and Auspicious Talisman that can then be exchanged at the Luck and Fortune event shop for various rewards, including:
- 4★ Siris – The Goldfish
- Crimsontip Crane outfit for 5★ Chenxing – Ethereal Cloud
- Mingyi Logistics Squad – Zhe Hao, Xuan Kai, and Jin Lang
- Many other types of rewards
Adjutants can also receive a variety of supplies and rewards by completing various tasks from the “Divine Essence Calender” event missions.
During the Mingdeng Ritual event periods, players are also able to obtain up to 10 Manifestation Echo Covenants after accumulating 7 total day logins.
Furthermore, the Strike of Midnight battle stages will start from the 7th of August to the 14th of September, where players can clear hostiles between Towers to quickly collect Lucky Coin(s).
In addition to the battle stages, the Dispute of the Towers challenge stages will also start on the same day until the 21st of August (UTC+8).
In the challenge stages, Manifestations can utilize jump capabilities in combat, and enemies will attack in waves.
Each wave has a time limit and the remaining time when completing the challenge will convert to Dragon Breath Token(s).
Players can exchange the Dragon Breath Token for an Assist Code of their choice in the Dragon Assistance Station to help them in combat.
Mingdeng Ritual – Phase 2
Starting from August 14th to September 4th (UTC+8), the second phase of the Mingdeng Ritual event will commence with the addition of the “Lighting the Way” Taste gameplay.
In the “Lighting the Way” Taste gameplay, players will operate chibi avatars of their Operatives sent to assist Taigu-Connect to eliminate hostiles and secure venus for the Mingdeng Ritual.
Mingdeng Ritual – Phase 3
The third and final phase of the Mingdeng Ritual event will start from August 21st to September 11th, which will add the “Mightnight Patrol” trials to the game for a limited time.
In the trials, the players and their Operatives will investigate a maze-like compound to eliminate hostiles at the behest of Cangyao, the Taigu-Connect branch manager.
As players go through the maze, they have to choose between 3 routes, eradicating any threats along the way before completing the final challenge.
Optimizations & Quality-of-Life Changes
Along with the major event, Seasun Games also planned a variety of quality-of-life changes, bug fixes, and gameplay optimization to come with the update.
During the Mingdeng Ritual event, players who have reached level 20 but have not logged into the game for more than a week will be able to take part in the “Parade of Lights” event to claim rewards for catching up on content.
Another notable big change coming to the game is the weapon modification system tier only going up to a maximum of Tier 2 instead of Tier 5 like before.
