Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning Gets A New Trailer

Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning, the upcoming movie featuring the cast of the anime, has released a new trailer showing off more of the movie’s plot details.

As was  previously announced, the movie will be releasing on October 27th in Japan, with no announcement of an international release date just yet.

Based on the trailer, It looks like the plot of Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning won’t be too different from the Digimon Tri series of movies, seeing the cast reunite again following the arrival of a mysterious new character and their partner Digimon.

Here’s the short summary of the movie’s plot, courtesy of Toei Animation:

Ten years have passed since the adventurous days between Odaiba and the Digital World in 2012.
While they were going their own ways, Daisuke and the other chosen children and their partner Digimon were still bound by the same bond.
Then one day, a giant Digimon suddenly appeared in the sky above Tokyo Tower, sending a message to the world.
A message was sent out to the world: “Friends to all. Digimon for everyone in the world.
As the world watches, a young man named Rui Owada appears before Daisuke and his friends with a missing Digivice.
Behind the birth of the chosen child is hidden a single wish of the young Rui. ……
When the past and the present are all connected, the greatest crisis in Digimon history will occur.
What will Daisuke and the rest of the 02 team choose?
Now, once again, the chosen children who have become adults are mobilized!

We also got confirmation on the return of several popular Digimon forms, such as all the Jogress evolutions like Sylphymon, Shakkoumon as well as Paildramon and its Imperialdramon evolutions.

Fans have been clamoring for more of the Digimon Adventure 02 cast ever since the first movie for Digimon Adventure Tri, where they were largely removed from the setting to better focus on the Adventure 01 cast.

Unlike later Digimon series, Adventure 02 is unique in that it shares a universe with the first series, Digimon Adventure, with characters like Takeru and Hikari even making up the main cast.
