Xbox head Phil Spencer has announced that the popular franchise Call of Duty will be kept on PlayStation, following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

The announcement was made over on Twitter where Spencer shared his thoughts on the matter:

“We are pleased to announce that Microsoft and PlayStation have signed a binding agreement to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.” said Phil Spencer in the tweet on 16th July. “We look forward to a future where players globally have more choice to play their favorite games.”

Microsoft president Brad Smith had also chimed in on the agreement via Twitter saying that, “From Day One of this acquisition, we’ve been committed to addressing the concerns of regulators, platform and game developers, and consumers. Even after we cross the finish line for this deal’s approval, we will remain focused on ensuring that Call of Duty remains available on more platforms and for more consumers than ever before.”

However, Phil Spencer did not share any further details in regards to the binding agreement, so it’s still unclear how long it is for or what the binding agreement entails.
