Update – 10/03/23: Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective HD Remaster now has a release date of June 30th, 2023.

At the recent Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Capcom‘s cult classic Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and other consoles later this year.

The game was originally released for the Nintendo DS back in 2010 and later ported to mobile devices. In this adventure game, you play as Sissel, a spirit who died and must find out the mystery of who he was and how he was killed. As a ghost, Sissel can manipulate the world around him to solve puzzles and find clues.

The game was directed and written by Shu Takumi, the same man that created the Ace Attorney series, and contains a similar style of humor to the courtroom shenanigans of that franchise. The original game was highly praised for its quirky character writing and incredibly smooth and vibrant animation for the DS game.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective HD Remaster will release for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in the summer of 2023.
