Malaysian Genshin Impact fans are able to cast their wish at the Dodoco Wish Machine event that’s happening at Sunway Velocity Mall. The event starts from today on the 6th of January and will last till 8th January 2023.

Wish Upon The Dodoco

The Dodoco Wish Event is located on the 1st floor of Sunway Velocity Mall right outside of the H&M clothing store. It’s very hard to miss it since the machine sticks out like a sore thumb, but in a good way.

The exact location of the event wasn’t mentioned anywhere on social media aside from it being in Sunway Velocity Mall, so it made finding for the event like a treasure hunt of sorts.

Arriving at the event location, you’ll be greeted by some Genshin themed decorations here and there aside from the Wish Machine. One being a two-sided billboard picture of Klee standing on a grassy field outside of the city of Mondstadt doing a cute pose.

There’s also some other decorations like a cardboard cutout of Klee and Albedo as well as some wooden benches and tables draped in Klee-themed designs. And lastly, the Wish Machine brandishes the iconic red and gold colour scheme and is topped off with Klee’s fuzzy companion – Dodoco.

The Genshin event also comes with its little activity where participants can join to earn some Genshin Impact goodies. The steps to enter the activity is simple, all you need to do is take a picture of yourself at the event and post it on social media with the hashtag #WishesFromTeyvat, and show it to one of the staff at the event.

You’ll then be ushered inside the machine where there will be a screen with a few Genshin Impact characters along with a button placed below for the corresponding characters. Once you picked one of the characters displayed on the machine, a neat postcard of the character you picked will drop out.

A quick survey of the event is also available for participants to fill up which nets you some cute stickers of everyone’s favourite emergency food companion – Paimon.

If participants picked the “right” character inside of the machine, a cosplayer of the character will appear to greet you and tell you that you’re eligible to enter a lucky draw to potentially win some extra goodies!

Overall Experiences

The Dodoco Wish Machine event is a fun little experience that Genshin Impact fans will enjoy. While it isn’t as grand as the annual HoYoFEST events, it’s still cool to see the franchise being such a huge hit over here in Malaysia. I think I can speak for everyone that it’s always a pleasure to be able to attend events of your favourite media franchises and share that experience with other fans.
