[ Guide ] Genshin Impact: Building your Genius Invokation TCG Deck

Now that you’ve hopefully understood the basics of Genshin Impact‘s Genius Invokation TCG, how are you building your deck? Players have certainly crafted “meta” decks to be competitive, so let’s learn how they work so that you can be more “efficient” and competitive if you so wish.

HIGH-PICK CHARACTERS

AYAKA	YOIMIYA	FISCHL	CHONGYUN	XINGQIU
Cryo infusion, Cryo summon	Pyro infusion	Piercing damage, Electro summon	Cryo infusion, damage buff	Shield, elemental dispel, Hydro damage

Being able to add elemental effects to Normal Attacks and providing effects when they are not the Active character can be incredibly valuable. Having these additional effects means you can spend less dice on setting up your characters and be more efficient with your resources, while triggering Elemental Reactions. Characters having relatively lower cost skills also means resource efficiency.

HIGH-PICK CARDS

	Paimon	When Action Phase begins: Create Omni Element ×2.
	Liben	End Phase: Collect your unused Elemental Dice (Max 1 of each Elemental Type). When Action Phase begins: If this card has collected 3 Elemental Dice, draw 2 cards and create Omni Element ×2, then discard this card.
	ANY 4 Elemental Resonance	Various effects depending on element.
	Changing Shifts	The next time you perform "Switch Character": Spend 1 less Elemental Die.
	Leave It to Me!	The next time you perform "Switch Character": The switch will be considered a Fast Action instead of a Combat Action.
	I Haven't Lost Yet!	Only playable if one of your characters is defeated this Round: Create Omni Element ×1 and your current active character gains 1 Energy.
	The Bestest Travel Companion!	Convert the Elemental Dice spent to Omni Element ×2.

Unsurprisingly, the highest-picked cards involve obtaining Omni-Element dice, reducing the cost of actions, or facilitating Fast Actions. Omni-Element dice will allow more flexible dice usage, which can then be used to spend on Elemental Resonance cards to trigger their effects.

Your choice of Elemental Resonance cards will depend on the characters you are using and/or the Elemental Reaction your deck is centered around in order to create the dice you want to use, and the associated resonance effect.

COMMON INCLUSIONS

	Chang the Ninth	When either side uses a Skill: If Physical DMG or Piercing DMG was dealt, or an Elemental Reaction was triggered, this card gains 1 Inspiration. When this card gains 3 Inspiration, discard this card, then draw 2 cards.
	Parametric Transformer	When either side uses a Skill: If Elemental DMG was dealt this card gains 1 Qualitative Progress. When this card gains 3 Qualitative Progress, discard this card, then create 3 different Basic Elemental Dice.
	Strategize	Draw 2 cards.
	Liu Su	After you switch characters: If the character you switched to does not have Energy, they will gain 1 Energy. (Once per Round)
	Starsigns	Your current Active Character gains 1 Energy.
	ANY TWO Character Talent Cards	Various effects.

These cards are then meant to further facilitate the execution of your strategy, including gaining more dice, drawing more cards, or giving Energy for Elemental Bursts.

Having two copies of a character’s Talent Card means more chances to draw the card. Which Talent will depend on who your strategy mostly revolves around.

NOTABLE MENTION

	Timmie	Triggers automaticlly once per Round: This card gains 1 Pigeon. When this card gains 3 Pigeons, discard this card, then draw 1 card and create Omni Element ×1.
	Send Off	Choose one Summon on the opposing side and destroy it.
	Lotus Flower Crisp	During this Round, the target character takes -3 DMG the next time.
	Calx's Arts	Shift 1 Energy from at most 2 of your characters on standby to your active character.
	Quick Knit	Choose one Summon on your side and grant it +1 Usage(s).
	Jade Chamber	Roll Phase: 2 of the starting Elemental Dice you roll are always guaranteed to match the Elemental Type of your active character.
	Minty Meat Rolls / Northern Smoked Chicken	Before / During this Round, the target character's next Normal Attack cost less 1 Unaligned Element.

Last but not least, the cards to round up the deck to make your deck and strategy more consistent. Options here include:

• More consistent dice
• Destroying an enemy’s summon, potentially disrupting their strategy
• Defensive measures
• Character buffs

You can always just look up a “meta” deck for Genius Invokation TCG to best beat the NPCs or your friends. If you want to experiment building a deck around your favourites, then knowing what the cards do will always help you on your way to becoming a better player in Genius Invokation TCG.
