Jumanji: The Mobile Game – Soft Launching In Thailand And Canada!

If you are from the ’90s, you’d probably remember the good ‘ol movie Jumanji which starred the late Robin Williams (tears rolling *sniff). It was an epic movie back then which was revived again in 2017 which will star our giant Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), comical Jack Black and Kevin Hart and many other notable actors. However, did you know NHN Entertainment collaborated with developer Idiocracy Games and Sony Pictures Consumer Products to create a Jumanji mobile game?

The game dubbed Jumanji: The Mobile Game has just launched their pre-registration, giving us a heads up on their official global launch which will land on the 14th of December 2017! They had even soft-launched the game in Thailand and Canada to test the waters and fix some bugs (if there are). While people like us (from the ’90s) are excited about the movie based game, we would also like to inform you guys what the game is about.

Jumanji based off the movie is a board game which comes to life which follows a series of misfortunes that befalls the roller of dice. However the mobile game is a little different. It was turned into a deck building RPG-slash-board game style where players get to engage with characters based from the 2017 movie. Players will need to customize their decks with collectible cards to help avoid traps from Jumanji with Skill Cards and also engage in battle against your enemies.

However the game is not just some RPG-slash-board game, players will need to conquer landmarks like rivers or ruins. As you need to conquer them, there are enemies (other players) that will try to steal your gold so there is a raiding system here. There are different characters which helps enhances your deck based on your playstyle like Dr. Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson) or Professor Shelly Oberon (Jack Black). Because it’s a deck building game, it is up to you on how you want to play the game!
