Sega and Atlus have revealed new information about the DLC for their upcoming RPG Soul Hackers 2.
Digital pre-orders for the game are also going live today (June 9th) for consoles and tomorrow (June 10th) for PC via Steam.
The DLC for the game will include character costumes and BGM tracks based on the original Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers as well as other Atlus titles. The most notable of these is a costume for Soul Haacker 2’s main protagonist Ringo which is based on the heroine of the first game Nemissa.
The DLC will also allow you to unlock fusions for new demons like Mara and Masakado as well as provide in-game currency and EXP items for those that are willing to pay to jump a few levels.
I must say, having a demon as iconic to the Shin Megami Tensei franchise as Mara be hidden behind a paywall is pretty shady on Atlus’ part. He should be in the base game so players can whip him out when things start to get rough.
The most interesting piece of extra content announced is an additional scenario, called “Lost Numbers” featuring new characters, which will also be available for purchase.
Atlus is also releasing a “Soul Hackers 2 DLC All-in-One Set” which is a bundle that contains all the DLC at a discounted price. The bundle is just for the DLC mind you, it doesn’t include the base game.
Digital Deluxe Editions
It has also been announced that a digital deluxe edition of the game called “Soul Hackers 2 – 25th Anniversary Edition” will be available for the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game on the Playstation Store. This version of the game contains the following:
- Soul Hackers 25th Anniversary Music Album
- Soul Hackers 25th Anniversary Book
- Special Costume DLC: Mary’s Maid Set
- Bonus Demon: Ai-ho DLC
- Soul Hackers 2 base game (digital version)
There will also be a special edition for the Steam release called the “Soul Hackers 2 Digital Premium Edition” which includes:
- Soul Hackers 2 base game
- Cash, Incense, & EXP Pack
- Additional scenario: “Lost Numbers”
- Additional costumes and BGM pack (Six costumes and BGMs from other Atlus works, including the original Soul Hackers)
- Bonus demons’ pack (Unlocks acquisition and fusion of 8 powerful demons, such as Mara and Masakado)
- Special Costume DLC: Mary’s Maid Set
- Bonus demon: Ai-ho DLC
Soul Hackers 2 will be released on August 29th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
