The sample in question, “Ike Ike Dan-cho, Ganbare Ganbare Dan-cho! (Go go Captain, hang in there, Captain!)” is in the description of the song’s official lyric video, linked above. Going by this snippet shared by fan account Granblue_EN, the sample was found then included into the song at Alex Pall’s call. The official Granblue Fantasy account has also acknowledged this unexpected crossover with The Chainsmokers, linking to the song in their tweet. The lyrics through Genius’ About description also mentions the source.
With many people wondering where the Japanese sample comes from, it was eventually found by a user in The Chainsmokers’ Discord. The sample originates from a character voiced by Ayane Sakura in a Japanese role-playing gacha game, “Granblue Fantasy”.
