The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest gets a double whammy of news, with the announcement of an upcoming mobile game as well as the date of broadcast for its pilot anime episode.
The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest: Ultimate Reincarnation will be a game based on the anime, and pre-registrations are now open. With milestone rewards up to 100,000 users, you can get premium currency, upgrade materials, and a 4-star Iris. The game looks like a pretty simple-to-grasp 2D turn-based battle game. Its release date is simply “within 2022”.
As you might guess from its name, The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest is a light novel first published in December 2016 that has since spanned 13 volumes. It tells a story of an incredibly skilled sage who possesses a “Mark” considered not suited for combat. “Marks” in this world are symbols that categorize one’s aptitude for magic, with the sage deciding to reincarnate thousands of years in the future. On getting reborn as Mathias Hildesheimr, the sage gets the close-combat mark he wants, but the world’s knowledge of magic and swordsmanship has deteriorated that basic magic is practically unknown and no good equipment can be found, AND his mark is also now considered “the worst”. It also has a manga adaptation besides the anime produced by J.C. STAFF.
